Private Chef & Cooking Instructor
Josefina Peters-Didier

Marine scientist turned superyacht and private chef — with a lifelong love for the ocean, food and adventure.
Hi, I’m Jo.
Since I was a little girl, I always dreamed of becoming either a marine biologist or a chef. I never imagined that somehow, I would end up becoming both — cooking my way around the world while sailing the oceans.
Originally from Chile, I studied marine science and completed a PhD in New Zealand. The ocean has always been a huge part of my life, and today I work as a superyacht chef on rotation. When I’m off the yacht, I’m based in La Ventana, Baja California Sur, where I run my own private chef business.
Baja is home for me — a place where I can combine my love of food and the ocean. I spend much of my free time freediving and enjoying the incredible marine life in this "aquarium of the world".
Cooking for people from all over the world, from owner trips and charters to remote locations with limited ingredients, has taught me to be creative, resourceful and highly adaptable. My cooking style brings together Mediterranean, Latin American and Asian influences — fresh, healthy, colorful and full of flavor, with a focus on beautiful local and seasonal ingredients.
For me, food is about much more than what’s on the plate. I love creating memorable experiences, getting to know the people I cook for and bringing care, creativity and a personal touch to every table.
Food, the ocean and adventure — I feel incredibly lucky to have built a life around the things I love.
